About Andrea L. Beaudin, PhD

Technical Communicator | Researcher | Designer

As a writer and designer, I relish the challenge of crafting language and other media (images, color, sound, and video) to engage, educate, and excite.

As an educator, I aim to foster an environment in which my students learn what questions to ask, why those questions impact their communication goals, and how they can best achieve those goals through media, style, and design.

As a researcher, I am always curious as to how “we” (that’s a broad, encompassing pronoun) can make a process or a product better suit users’ needs and goals. That curiosity naturally led to a focus in UX, but it also brought me to want to explore UX’s intersections with learning, particularly in the areas of UDL, accessibility, and information design.

Specialties: Instructional Design, Usability/User Experience Design (UXD), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Accessibility, Information Design, Graphic Design.
